A public shout-out to the computer manufacturers.

Hey, Guys… I understand you’ve had some less than great sales these past two years. Bummer. Remember when Secure Boot, which became UEFI, came out two years ago, and the Linux community screamed murder? I think, at the time, there was some conspiracy theory that Microsoft wanted to keep Linux off it’s machines, but you know, not from anyone important. And Windows 8 was doing to do absolutely gangbusters in term of sales! Those were the days, huh? My current Toshiba 17” laptop, three years old and perfectly capable of running Win8, has Debian on it. If/when it dies, I’ll replace it with something that has never been touched by Microsoft or UEFI, like a Chromebook or Chromebox (which can be side-loaded with Linux, no problem). Just thought I’d say, good luck following the Microsoft plan...
